Chairperson, ESAS

Ali Sabancı is a Board Member at Pegasus Airlines and Vice Chairperson of MAC which are part of the Esas Private Equity portfolio. He also serves on the Board of Esas Properties.

He is also one of the co-founders of Esas Social, which was established to facilitate sustainable social investment. He focuses on increasing awareness of entrepreneurship in Turkey. As the president of the Young Entrepreneurs Board in the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and a founding board member of GEN Turkiye (Global Entrepreneurship Network), he has led successful initiatives including Angel Investing Legislation, Global Entrepreneurship Congress, G3 Forum, Global Entrepreneurship Week and TIM Innovation Week - Born Global. He is also an angel investor in over 25 start-up companies.

Ali Sabancı, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Entrepreneurship Foundation and a member of the Turkish Family Business Association (TAİDER), was awarded the Légion d'Honneur by the French government in 2018 for his contributions to economic relations between Turkiye and France.

Ali Sabancı earned his M.B.A. degree with a major in International Finance from Columbia Business School and B.A. degree in Politics and Economics from Tufts University.

ÇAĞATAY ÖZDOĞRU
Member of the Board & Group CEO, ESAS

Çağatay (Chaatai) Özdoğru oversees all of ESAS’ investment platforms/business lines including real estate, private equity, venture capital and wealth management, also serves on their investment committees. He is a board member of ESAS Properties, ESAS Wealth Management and various private equity portfolio companies including Pegasus Airlines. 

Çağatay joined ESAS in 2005 as an executive board member and has been the Group CEO since 2010. He played a major role in establishing ESAS Private Equity both in Türkiye as well as abroad. He led a number of ESAS’ private equity investments and exits of various portfolio companies including UN Ro-Ro, Mars Cinema Group, Mars Athletics and Peyman. 

Previously, Çağatay was the president of IT & Telecommunications Investments at Sabancı Holding. Prior to that, he held various positions in the tech & telecommunications industry, where he last served as the executive vice president of the MEA region at Global One, a member of France Telecom Group.

In 2020, Çağatay was appointed as the chairman of Türkiye - France Business Council at DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Council of Türkiye). Çağatay is also a member of the Board of Directors at TUSIAD (Turkish Business & Industry Association) as of April 2022. He is also a current board member of the Turkish Basketball Federation. Previously, he served as the chairman of Türkiye - Sweden Business Council and Türkiye - Croatia Business Council, and board member of TBV (Türkiye IT Foundation) and TUBISAD (Türkiye IT Industry Association). He was also the president of Sigortamnet İTÜ Basket of Turkish Basketball League between 2018-2019. 

Çağatay Özdoğru earned his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, where he received the Hall of Fame Award for Alumni in 2016, and B.S. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. 

LUIGI PIGORINI
LUIGI PIGORINI
Independent Board Member, ESAS

Luigi is a former Private Banking CEO with deep entrepreneurial experience and demonstrated ability to lead large and complex organizations, fix and restructure businesses addressing client, legal, regulatory, human resources and cost related issues where timing and agility is critical.

Luigi has 40 years of Private Credit, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking and Wealth Management experience in a variety of leadership roles. He retired from Citigroup in March 2024, after having led Citi Private Bank for Europe, Middle East and Africa for the last 14 years, serving the most successful families, business leaders and entrepreneurs across EMEA.

Luigi has extensive Board of Directors experience as Director, CEO and Chair of Legal Entities where he worked. Currently he is also an independent director at Soltec Power Holdings S.A., a solar tracker manufacturer listed on the Madrid stock exchange.

He earned his M.B.A. from Columbia University in New York and his BSc in Economics from Queen Mary College, University of London. He is married to Laura, and they have three university age children. An active investor, he lives between London and Madrid, the city where he grew up.

Independent Board Member, ESAS

Farah Foustok is a globally recognized leader in financial services, with over 30 years of experience across the UK, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Her leadership journey includes building asset management businesses, developing top investment talent and investing in new economy sectors. She is known for her financial acumen, policy advocacy and emphasis on long-term mutual value creation.

Farah currently serves as the Non-Executive Chair of a Multi-Family Office representing over 30 Founding Shareholders. She is also a Non-Executive Director on the boards of ALEC and ESAS, an Operating Partner & Senior Advisor to Energy Impact Partners and a Strategic Advisor to ALARA Partners. She is actively involved in Audit, Remuneration and Investment Committees.

Most recently, Farah was Vice Chair of Lazard Saudi Arabia and CEO of Lazard Asset Management Middle East. Earlier, she held C-suite roles at ING Investment Management and the National Bank of Dubai and started her career at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley. As former Chair of the UAE Financial Services Association, Farah contributed to regulatory developments including the DIFC secure savings scheme.

An active venture investor, Farah focuses on fintech, wellness, energy transition and female-led startups. She was named International Investment Woman of the Year in 2019 and to Forbes Top 50 Over 50 Women in EMEA in 2024. Since 2013, she has founded multiple NGOs and serves on the Middle East Board of Room to Read, championing children’s education globally. Farah is deeply committed to education and impact and holds numerous executive certificates. Proudly embracing her Saudi-Palestinian heritage, Farah is a devoted mother of two young adults; she speaks fluent Arabic, English & Spanish.

Advisory Board Member

He began his career in investment banking at the Center for International Financial Research Inc. in Princeton and subsequently held executive positions at Saudi American Bank, Tacirler Securities, Inter Investment, Inter Asset Management, and Demir Investment.

From 2002 to 2020, Köksal served as the General Manager and subsequently as a Board Member of Ünlü Securities. Between 2011 and 2014, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Capital Markets Association. Over the years, he has also served as a board member at Borsa Istanbul, VOB A.Ş., and CFA Institute.

Currently, Köksal is a Board Member at Turkish Digital Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Turkish Bank, as well as at Türk Sigorta and WWF Turkey. Since April 2019, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of the Financial Literacy and Inclusion Association (FODER).

In addition to his corporate roles, Köksal teaches Behavioral Finance at Sabancı University. He is the author of “The Mistakes We Make About Money” and has co-authored two books as part of the Investment for the Future series: “Savings and Investment Advice for Tomorrow’s Leaders” and “Savings and Investment Advice for Families”.

Attila Köksal graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned an MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
